Common sense ?

I have my king betta in a temp 2 gallon tank (untill my 20 gallon is set up)
and this tank has a clear plastic lid that covers the entire top of the tank ,except for one small hole where the air tube goes in ...the light sits on top of this clear cover ...my betta went to the top to get air and just bumped the plastic lid.....so i took the lid & light off ....i cant use the lid & light now right ?

I think I know what type of tank you're talking about and you can use it. Just remove a bit of water, leave an inch. I don't think your air hole with the tube is air tight right? So he'll get enough fresh air.

Bettas are jumpers, especially Kings because they have shorter fins. Just lower the water level a couple inches from the top so he can't hit his head and put the lid back on so he doesn't jump out.

yeah, just lower the water an inch or two and it'll be fine with the cover on.

Thank you :) he seems to like the tank ,i do not have a heater cause its only a 2 gallon tank but i think the 15 watt light bulb is heating the tank some and Henery David seems to like it , he swimmimg all around ,looks to be exploring his surroundings :) he likes the blood worms alot but isnt crazy about the flake food ...inm not sure how much to feed him hes a big boy :)

If he eats everything within 5 minutes, it's fine. If there's leftovers after that time, it's probably too much.

Don't feed him too much blood worms. Are they freeze dried? Freeze dried should only be given as a treat once or twice a week. Bettas will always look like they're starving, but don't keep feeding them. It's like a child wanting candy, it's not good for them but in moderation it's ok. I would suggest switching to pellets so you can make sure you're giving the right amount of food. When I had a King I fed him 7 pellets a day (4 in the morning and 3 at night). Their stomachs are the size of ONE eye, so it's VERY small. If you want to give him flakes, I'd do a VERY small pinch once in the morning and once at night and look for signs of bloating. If he's bloating a lot, than cut back on the amount of flakes. He will eat the flakes, just keep offering it to him and he'll eventually realize that that's his staple food.
