Betta Imbellis?

Has anyone ever kept a wild type of betta? If so, got any tips. I am starting to research, which will take me a while, you know to make the perfect set up for them. I think I want to set up a ten gallon with a male and one to two females, with everything natural, like live plants, substrate, and driftwood.

Don't be expecting too much - I usually don't see any betta imbellis unless it's with a betta keeper that has kept bettas for years on end - enough to spend even more money on them. But they're REALLY pretty. So far, with the very minimal stuff I've read online, there hasn't been to many differences in care.

I have found some good sites that have good info on them. They require a different diet. But that is it. Oh and you can keep a group of males and females together with minimal problems. They are known as the peaceful betta. They are really beautiful, they helped create what we call "Dragon" Betta.

They do look stunning. I have seen them around a few times online and I was always wondering what type of Betta they were. Finally about a week or two ago I figured out what they were. Also, my mother loves them to. :D

You should look into the IBCs species maintenance program. You can find breeders to buy imbellis from there.

The president of my betta group breeds wilds. I can't remember if he breeds imbellis or not.

^^That site is really helpful if your planning on venturing into wild bettas. It can tell you a lot more than I can :)

Yeah basically. Its a place for people to learn and share information as well as a place to find stock. There's a forum and yahoo group.. stuff like that. I really haven't gotten into it much. Occasionally I lurk in the forums trying to learn but I'm not into wilds very much right now.
