So sad right now.

Yesterday Carnage seemed weird.

he laid on the bottom all day.

his temps are good, I did a WC just to be sure.

woke up this morning and he was stuck in the bottom on my lil bubble filter, and his tail is all ripped up.

I have no idea whats wrong. I turned the bubbler off and left for work with him sitting, panting, on the bottom of his tank.

He is my favorite, and I dont think hes gonna make it.

he just seems weak. And I dont know what happened to him?

any ideas as to what may cause this?

I rally dont want to loose him.

Oh no! I hope he's still alive when you go back. :( I'd completely take the bubbler out and cover his tank/bowl with a blanket because he's going to be really stressed out and darkness calms them. Do you have any aquarium salt? That'll help his fins and it'll give him some electrolytes. Warm, clean water will help him heal also. I'd keep a towel or blanket over his tank for a couple days at least because I'm sure he's really strung out.

So he wasnt dead when I went home for lunch.

I covered his tank w/ a black shirt and turned the bubbles off.

almost immediatley thereafter he swam up to the top of the tank and started movin around a little bit.

Im going to get some aquarium salt after work if he's still hanging in there.

Do you guys think i should like, take him out and put him in a little QT tank i could buy or, just leave him where he is at and do a WC?

I kinda feel like I want to tear down his tank, throw everything away and start his setup over.

but dont want to stress him anymore either

I wouldn't take his whole tank apart right now, it will probably stress him out further. You can try lowering the water level in his current tank, or you can move him to a smaller one..Either way, it will be easier for him to get to the top and take a breath if he needs to. :)

If he perks up after a little alone time under the black shirt, you should start looking at adding some aquarium salt and possibly other medicines like Melafix/Bettafix to ensure that his torn fins don't get any worse.

I am literally putting moving my girlfrind on hold until next weekend so I can try and take care of this guy. Luckly, she rules.

Im freakin out. This poor lil guy was supposed to come home with me and be better off than he was in that darn lil jar.

I kinda feel like I failed the lil guy.

I know how you feel, its so upsetting when you see them suffering and theres nothing you can do =(

Aww don't feel like that! Like I said, warm, clean water and aquarium salt will heal him right up! If he has trouble reaching the top, than lower the water level so he doesn't have to swim as far.
