Talking New to the Forum!

Hey everyone!!

I have been coming here since January when I bought my first Betta ever! You all have such great advice! Now, 5 months later, I've decided to join and I'm so glad I did! I'm really loving all the pictures of beautiful bettas and all the imaginative names!

My Betta's name is Beethoven. He's a red and blue crown tail and I love him so much! I made my screen name Beethoven because really, it's all about him. He's been ill recently but recovering, I believe. He made a bubble nest for me for the first time in about two months which leads me to believe he's feeling at least a little better. =)

I'm looking forward to seeing more bettas, having more betta discussions and learning more as I read through the posts and continue my journey with Beethovie.

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

This is him last night. His tail fins are not anywhere near as long as they were when I got him. They're getting better though. I'm not worried. He's doing very well. I'll have to try to snag a pic when he's flared. His tail has these beautiful lighter blue spots that take my breath away. I <3 my fish! I got him at a Petland. They don't really care for their bettas very well but that's the only petstore nearby and Beethoven was super happy when I brought him home so it's all good.

He's in a 1 gallon glass bowl. I don't like it at all. I'm actually buying him a new 2 gallon vase (It's really more of a bowl but it's prettier) this weekend after I get paid. I'd love to get him a corner tank and I've been looking at them but I just don't think I have the room. I live in the dorms and we have a lot of space, actually but not anywhere near enough on desks and what little shelf space we have for a tank. I keep going back and forth because I could probably make the room but I love having him on my desk where I can interact with him a lot and see him when I'm working, ya know? Right now he only has one plant and some blue rocks. It's not his normal setup because he has a small case of what I believe is fin rot. I honestly have no clue how that happened because I change his water regularly. He started acting weird after Spring Break when his routine was interrupted. =)

A 2gal vase would work great! Just make sure to get a heater.
