How many females?

How many female bettas would you need for a sorority (I think I've been told 5 or more).

I'd fancy getting a sorority in my tank but I think it's too small for 5; it's 7.5 US gallons.

Any advice? I'd rather not a divided tank, if all else fails I'll get another male but I think I'd prefer females this time.

A 7.5gal is too small for a sorority you need at least a 10gal.You could put a female and some other fish like cories or ghost shrimp OR you could divided it and get two females

A 7.5 is too small for a sorority. You could do what Jayy suggested. I'm not sure if you should put three together though as females are territorial fish just like males and they could either hurt each other or worse but they could also get along, I know my 4 do. If you really want females then maybe you could try and upgrade or just have another male =)

Thats fine, I thought it was too small, I was just checking. I haven't started cycling it yet so I just wanted to get an idea in my mind of what I'd like in there.

I would say that is too small of a space for them, I would suggest 10 gallon or 15 is even better

if you wanted to divide the tank that would be okay probably, but they might get too territorial in such a small space
