Exclamation URGENT: Sponge filter question

Sorry for the urgency, but I have a coupon that expires soon and am going to the (somewhat far away) petstore tomorrow to pick up a few more things.

I am looking to get a sponge filter. Can anyone recommend a double vs. a single sponge? I can't seem to find many photos showing the size scaling in a 10 gallon tank, but from what I've seen they seem HUGE! I want as small as I can go, but also need it to work well, of course.

I'm looking at this one:

The only reason I was looking at a double is it might be good to squeeze only one out (when cleaning) and leave the other undisturbed. Then the next time I would do the opposite sponge. But if you think only one would be alright and wouldn't ruin the cycle when squeezing, please say so!

Thank you thank you thank you!!
