Talking New fish!

I went to Petco yesterday with my best friend to get another thermometer (mine broke). Naturally, I had to check out their selection of bettas and found this guy hiding in the back. Someone must've hid him. They had two gorgeous CT's that I wanted also, but for some reason I can't seem to keep CT's...maybe my waters too hard for them? Anyways, my best friend who has never owned a fish before, decided to get one also.lol I've converted my friends!haha I don't have a name for this guy yet. Also, I noticed that his top fin has some red in it, I don't think he had that before. I put some salt in there, so maybe he's sensitive? I made sure to dissolve the crystals before I put them in though. The pictures aren't that great because he wouldn't stand still.lol He ate right away which I was really suprised. Oh and he's a HM.lol

Thanks! Yeah he's a marble.lol One of his eyes is half white, it's so cute. It looks like the red splotches are blood. :/ Could the red just be his color?

There aren't any blood vessels in betta's fins (or my guy Freddie would have bled to death long ago from biting LOL). Its possible he could be irritated but I think its just his color.

Blue Jeans has red streaks in his fins that I didn't notice until after I'd had him in a nice heated tank for a week or two. I thought he was irritated at first too.
