HELP I need my tail!

Well, after arranging the new wood into the tanks. Busters tail looks terrible! I really thought I had sanded down everything. But I am pretty sure the little log tunnel {that he L.O.V.E's} is ripping his tail up. I took it out and cut up a water bottle, stuffed it inside the tunnel, and put it back into the tank. Now it is FOR SURE smooth inside.

Question is....How long does it take to grow the ends of his tail back out?

Sorry about the tail and what a great idea for the fix.....

Re-growth varies.....depending on how bad, most important is keeping the water really clean to prevent a secondary infection.
Sometimes their tail will never look the same and sometimes it will regrow clear or white and even an different color all together
Daily water changes 50% at least for 5-10 days you should see healing within 3 days and new growth by 5-8 days, full regrowth can take a month or longer

Like OFL said, it could take a month or more. Fins are fragile anyways but new fins growing in are even more fragile and if he moves to fast or over-flares, he can tear the new fin. I had one that it took months before his tail fully healed because he kept flaring at his reflection.lol *rolls eyes*
