I have just taken out two plants from his tank and I think his colour is starting to come back, the patch by his tail is Raspberry colour again =) is this even possible? lol

Could be a coincidence but for now, just leave them out I guess.

The lights I was referring to are for tanks, they have them all different lengths. Might be harder for small tanks.

I have a plant like this http://www.mainevolunteerlakemonitor.../Hornworts.php and it's growing daily. i've had to trim it twice in 2 weeks already with a standard light that came with my tank (15watts). Not the prettiest, but might be something to look at if your other plants die.

His colour is back to normal but we have also had a cooler day today so I've opened my curtains which could have something to do with it.

aaaaaahhhh that would make more sense. We just had a heat wave here too and I don't have my AC installed yet. Need to get on that tonight!

I did think of mentioning it before but his tank is across the room from my window so hes not in complete few of the light, but hes looking much brighter today =) I wish I had AC, my body's not cut out for this kinda weather lol.

Hahah, well normally I just deal with it but my two tanks reached 90 yesterday, and summer's just starting. I lost a shrimp in the heat. Need to go get an AC tonight. Sick how I'll deal with the heat for myself, but I'll go spend $600 for my fish's health.
