Disease or Mucile lose?

My betta Aoi Akai is weak, she lays on the ground all day and will only swim to the top when she needs air or eats, she acts normal, she eats all the food I give her and go to the bathroom regularly.

I've had a few other bettas do this I don't know it this is a diseases or if it's because they get lazy and loose musile, it dosn't seem to be catching because I've had her in a 10 gal. split in to 3 and the other bettas were fine (sadly the other two died of ick).

The tank that I had her in when she got this was a 10 gal. split in 4 the deviders was plastic mesh that they couldent see through (which leads me to think it's mucile loss). The tank was heated to around 80 deg the water was good so there was no reason for this to happen.

I change the water twice a week, 50% (it's a one gal.). Theres no filtration. She's shares a 1 gal with a male (there split up) I was hoping the male would get her riled because when she was young she would more often flare back.

She had been in a 20 gal upright for around a month before I had to move, I was hoping she would get stronger with the other fish but... she started to get worse.

I've never heard of this happining anywhere eles. I've looked up fish disease (betta & other) and have found nothing.

IMO-2 fish in a 1g unfiltered tank needs at least 2- 50% and 2- 100% a week water changes...that is 4 water changes per week to keep water quality at levels safe for fish to thrive.
Also, when a male and female are kept in the smaller divided tanks the hormone exchange can be hard on them especially the female and this can shorten her life IME.
