Question Stocking tanks?

I just got a 5.5g tank for my birthday & I really want to get a King betta. BUT I also have to take a few of my teacher's mosquito fish for the summer (not sure how many there are).

Is it possible to keep a King betta in the same tank as 3 or 4 Mosquito fish? With a Tetra Whisper filter, of course.

If they are Gambusia, then IMO, no, these are pretty mean fish and can tear a Betta apart.

They look kinda like Gamusia (I just googled that). My teacher says they are nice community fish. But he isn't a betta guy.

I have gambusia and I would not call them nice...lol.....these are some pretty aggressive fish and I can't even keep them in with my fancy guppies, but mine are wild caught too....
I would have a back up plan if you give it a try and I would make 50% twice weekly water changes on that 5.5g with that many fish too, It really is too small for that many fish but since it will be temporary you should be fine as long as the needed water changes are made over summer break....

I think I'll keep them in their own tank. I don't want my King getting his fins torn.
