So Many Questions!

My mother is going to let me breed Betta after we get moved and get settled. I have been looking at websites, and reading almost every post here. But I still have so many questions before anything begins, breeding I mean. Let's go on with the questions:

What is a good tank size to breed in?
Can the breeding tank be the grow out tank for babies?
Is Java moss a good plant for babies, anything else I could use?
What could I use to encourage the male to make a bubble nest?
What is a good item to put the female in?
What type of filter it good?
How do I do water changes?
Is a adjustable heater good for babies?
What food is best?
How many separating containers do I need for males on average?
What are some ways to cull deformed Betta babies?
Is it better to buy a pair online? Buy a male for my female? Buy a female for one of my males?
What do I do if I want spade tails, my favorite? Tanya is spade tail, what are my chances?
When do I take the male out?

P.S. Sorry for so many questions. But I rather be prepared. Any other tips would be great. I might have more questions later on, this is all I could think of.

What is a good tank size to breed in?
A good tank for spawning is about 10 gallons.
Can the breeding tank be the grow out tank for babies?
Yep! ( thats what im doing) But it must be 20 gallons if you are doing that.
Is Java moss a good plant for babies, anything else I could use?
I think so! Im not sure what other plants you can use are though.( i just dont know specific names lol there is other stuff tyo use dont worry!)
What could I use to encourage the male to make a bubble nest?
Indian Almond Leaves ( careful not to use too many!),Condition with bloodworms for 2 weeks prior to breeding, floating female in tank with him.
What is a good item to put the female in?
Save the cup she comes in along with the lid and use that! (thats what im doing!)
What type of filter is good?
A sponge filter! I dont have any specific brands for you but most any will work!
How do I do water changes?
I wouldn't do any until the fry are about 2 weeks old but when you do ( do it carefully) use a small container to take water out and VERY SLOWLY add the conditioned water in. Always check for fry when removing water!
Is a adjustable heater good for babies?
YES! And good for spawning too! Just make sure that the temp stays around 80 degrees!
What food is best?
Many breeders use infusoria for the fry but baby brine shrimp ( sea monkeys) and daphnia work too!
How many separating containers do I need for males on average?
I dont know since this is my first spawn but maybe around 10-15? Correct me if im wrong!
What are some ways to cull deformed Betta babies?
Collect them in a bag with tank water and freeze them. It is quick and painless and they die in a sleeplike state. ( i read it in a book about bettas)
Is it better to buy a pair online? Buy a male for my female? Buy a female for one of my males?
I have never done that before so i wouln't know sorry!
What do I do if I want spade tails, my favorite? Tanya is spade tail, what are my chances?
Hm. My suggestion for your best chance is have both a male and female spade tail breed. Your chances may be 50% but im not sure.
When do I take the male out?
When the fry become free swimming. ( or he will it them) this happens in around 36 hours.

Hope this helps!

OH! Also, what does conditioning mean? Maryrox247 said feed them Bloodworms for two weeks. Could someone go into detail more?

Conditioning simply means preparing fiish to breed. You can do this by feeding them bloodworms like i said. Bloodworms tend to encourage breeding and that is why they are used. :)

Oh! I almost forgot to add: Only put the female in the cup she comes in if its for floating her with the male. If your talking about a permanent home at least a 1 gallon tank with a heater and filter!

I was talking about when I am breeding. I do permanent homes at least 2.5 gallons. For example, Tanya, my baby girl, is about to get a big upgrade she is an temporary fix right now. From 1/2 gallon to a 6 gallon. :D
