Beware of the Mini Bow1

I loved my tanks... until yesterday

I have 2 of the Mini Bow1 and I really like how they look.
One of my tanks was housing a DT marble guy with great personality. Only had him for a couple of week so I hadn't decided on a name yet. The Mini bow has 2 very small holes on the lid which I though where great because they allow air circulation and for me to feed my fish without taking the lid off.

Well, everything I thought great about the tanks just went down the drain, literarly. My DT male managed to jump through one of those openings and died yesterday. When I found him he was still moving so I placed him in water and he seemed get more active the next couple of hours but he lost his fight and was dead my the morning.

Although I know it's very unlikely for any other fish to acomplish that jump, please be aware if you own one of these tanks. I have covered the holes with some mesh i had around left and glue. I did leave enough space to be able to drop pellets without taking the lid off.

Sorry for your loss. If there is a hole, most likely a betta will manage to jump through it.

A DT marble? I'm so sorry for your loss. He must've been a fun fish! If I ever get a minibow1 I'll make sure to mesh the holes as well. Thanks for the warning!
