Shells leak something into the water though, I can't remember what, but I know they aren't exactly good in the water,
I cant really find any pics, but look for java moss, annubis, and stuff like that as far as live plants.

In your tank, which looks like a 1.5 gallon (I've seen those before in the store) I think fake plants would be best. They are less expensive, don't need lighting, and no fertilizer.

Just go for a few silk or soft plastic plants.

Checked out the plant section of the web site. Lot's of good info.

If you don't want to deal with live plants then silk is the way to go.

Shells can leech calcium into the water which can be bad. Unless you have snails - they love calcium in the water!
