Oh No, Nova!

I just found Nova in with my Tetras and Gouramis, I had a divider in the tank. He has no fins and missing some scales! I moved him to a 1/2 gallon tank with 1/2 t. of aquarium salt. He is swimming around ,not very much, and he goes up for air.

What do I do?! Please help.

Besides frequent water changes, good quality food, temp up to 80F, and keeping him in secure surroundings (give him some cover or keep him in a darkish room,) I'd say PM "oldfishlady," in case she doesn't see this. She gives good advice on emergencies.

I will be doing 100% water changes every day for ten days. He is covered to make it dark and the tank is warmed.

Edit: I know he might not make it, but I sure can try my hardest.

I just checked on him and he is swimming more! Any more help would be great!

My advice is make sure the divider is VERY secure ( for when you put him back) and as for healing the little guy, make sure evreything stays very clean, being that he is in a half gallon you will need to do daily water changes, but so you dont stress him out id go with about 50% instead of 100%. Also just keep an eye on him to see if he gets better! ( or worse..) Good luck!

Yeah...He isn't going back in the tank. How should I go about the water changes?

100% all the way. Just do what you normally do. The water changes and salt will help a lot.

OH! How do I make the water changes as less stressful as possible? Or is their even a way?
