The thing with bettas is it might seem like they're getting along and than one day you'll look at the tank and you'll find one or both dead fish. It's totally up to you, but I just wanted you to know how it could go in the worse case scenario. They're VERY territorial fish...they're called "fighting fish" for a reason.

i stand corrected.ive just had to seperate them as the betta was attacking the gourami. DAM shop owner telling me it will be ok.i think i'll talk to you guys on the forum for advice from now on. so its now a 2.5 gallon tank with a betta...... and it shall stay like it!

I'm sorry he attacked him. Like I said, they're very territorial fish. I never listen to the employees, 99% of the time they're wrong. He'll be very happy by himself. Where at the pictures??? :P
