glass etching?

Anyone ever tried this for the back ground of there tank? I don't like the looks of the back grounds that are available. But leaving the back ground open and seeing the filter, cords and such just isn't doing it for me. Have been thinking about doing the glass etching. Maybe make some kind of design. Most of the back will be etched with just some places clear. Anyone thought of this and tried it?

never tried it, but I like it! I'd probably recommend to etch a seperate piece of glass and put it there instead of etching the actual aquarium glass. not sure how large your tank is, but why create stress points on something that's holding back weight.

Also, if you don't like the backgrounds that exist, print whatever you want out and put it. Print a large photo of the NYC subway and put it, anything really.

I love the idea!

But it would be permanent. And I thought about it weakening the glass. Using another piece of glass is a better idea.
