Help I think he's sick...

I came in after 3 days to find the bowl dirty with a film type substance covering the top of the bowl except for one area which he was using to breathe from. I immediately removed him from the bowl and placed him in another container with fresh conditioned water. I fed him and he ate normally. I then cleaned the bowl, flower and rocks very well and put new conditioned water and let stand for 8 hours before putting him back in. I have tried to feed him twice since then and he has not eaten at all and doesn't seem to want to eat. He is not swimming around as much as he usually does but it is not uncommon for him to rest on or around the flower. What should I do?

Sounds like he's in a small bowl w/o a heater?

Do you know how warm the water temp is?

78-80 degrees is best for betta's. Can you upgrade to a 2.5 gal?

Thanks, he is in a large fish bowl, but don't know the temp. he seems to be doing better today and eating. I will put him in 2.5 gall and get temp adjusted. thanks for the info.

Its the temp I think as well.
