Case of the missing shrimp.

A few months ago I had 8 ghost shrimp in the tank with my betta and my dwarf frog. Now there is one left. I have found 3 dead shrimp. I cant decide what happened to them. None were found in the filter or substrate during vaccuming. I wonder if either the fish or the frog had them for lunch?

I did some research on shrimp, as I was thinking of adding some to my tank.

Best I could tell, most bettas love shrimp. They find them pretty tasty.

I had the same thing happen. I never found any bodies. I think they became a late night snack.

I know that crawfish will climb their way out of tanks. Most of ours (8/10 or something like that) did that and we found them half way across the living room (where their tank was).

Your betta probably ate them or tried to eat them. My betta ate one of my shrimp before. :( I actually have it on film (it was too late to save it).

Luckily my other shrimp knew to stay very clear of my betta after that, and now he's too big to eat anyway. :P
