So I just went to visit my mom's friend who's husband is a pro at saltwater tanks. He's crossbreeding regular clown fish, saddlebacks, Darwins, and Picassos (I think that's what they're called.) He also keeps Shangai's (Again.. not sure of the names) Mandarin gobies, yellow tangs, shrimp, fire fish, and jaw-fish. He has 8 tanks full of salt water critters, 3 of which are full of clown fish fry, and they are all living reefs. They are gorgeous!
So we got into a discussion about our fish- I told him a lot about bettas, and he told me a lot about his clown fish (which were just adorable!)
I told him I had been thinking about a salt-water tank, and he told me how easy to maintain they were- the snails, shrimp, and anemonies and other plants clean the place up.
So, he told me that if I were to start one, he would give me some assorted clownfish (whichever I wanted) free, as well as some free coral rock and plants.
So, I'm thinking about his Darwin Clownfish.
I just love the coloring on them, for some reason. He keeps a pair in a 7-9 gallon tank, and they lay eggs every 2 weeks and they look so happy!
Well, sorry for the long post- does anyone else keep salt-water tanks, and are they easy to keep, what kind of fish do you have, etc, etc.

I've always wanted a fresh water tank, and the Darwin's in pet stores are around $40 here, and the coral is obscenely expensive... what a deal!
