Hi, my name is Dead Sunlight. I'm a betta breeder and a proud owner of two beautiful males- Dead Sunlight, a Spadetail with a metallic purple body and magenta colored fins with a tinge of blue at the corners.( He's my prized betta, so I named myself after him). Orange is my orange Roundtail who posesses black trademarks on his body. I know that I'm new to this site, but trust me- I know A LOT about Betta Breeding (I capitilize "Betta" to honor this truly beautiful fish). If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. How many spawns have you had
What have you found to be the best food for the fry for best growth and development
What have you found to be the best method of conditioning the breeders
And what method do you use for spawning
Any special breeding projects

I use two different methods to spawn and only use live foods for fry the first 8-10 weeks. I use both live food and my homemade food to condition the breeders.

OFL.. have you ever tried the "leaving the father with the fry" method? I was reading about it last night and I really want to try it. Probably not with my first spawns but later on it sounds like a fun project.

Yes, I did the multi spawn experiment last year by leaving the female and male together with the fry, I would have to look at my logs to recall how many spawn I had, but I think it was 5 or 6 but not a 100% sure. The male was great and so was the female for that matter she would feed along side the older fry and not eat them. I did have some older fry that ate some new born fry, so I did start to remove the larger ones to grow-out.
Overall the experiment was a success and a lot of fun.
