Tell me how you are caring for your fish, size of the tank, water changes, additive, live plants, filtration...everything...I bet we can figure this out and sometimes it is nothing that you did...sometimes we just get sick or poorly bred fish to start.....hang in there......
and a female sound like a good idea.....they have loads of personality too....

ok all my fish are in 1.5 gallon critter keepers which is the biggest my room and mom will allow... water changes once a week.. im using standard betta water conditioner you can find at Petco, no live plants but each tank has a small plastic and safe plant ( they LOVe their plant) no filter and i know a great place to get double tail females ( this small pet store has 3 10 gallon tanks FULL of them)

The only thing I can suggest you change is doing at least twice weekly 100% changes...

Sorry about your boy. :(

I agree, however, I like to do 1-50% and 1-100% every week without filtration and removing all uneaten food after feeding, I sometimes will even step it up and add one more 50% making it 3 WC a week on my 2g and less tanks.
Freshwater fish thrive best in fresh water and one of the best preventive measure I have found.......

Doubletail...very nice...that is what I am working with right now DTCT cambodian...white body with white/blue/red fins....almost there.....its more fun for me to bred and make my own.....lol.....
