Just another question about saltbaths...

I have heard that saltbaths are great for treating various diseases, but I can't exactly understand which salt to use. One of my males got fungus, and I treated him with some table salt. Some people say that table salt is REALLY bad for bettas, but its as if he's in perfect condition.( As a matter of fact, I'm breeding him.) Did I make a mistake?

I wouldn't recomend table salt, unless it is non iodized and contains no additives,
Kosher salt works.
