Exclamation Help! Spiri jumped out of his tank!!!

AHH! I AM SO SCARED RIGHT NOW.
His water level's a good four inches down so he can't jump out...
But I found him on the floor of my room. He was still a little damp. I gently picked him up and plopped him into his tank.
His fins are a mess!!!!!! They're so badly torn. He is swimming around, but he's lost most of his color (though he's still showing some.)
He fell a good 3 feet and flopped about maybe 2 or three.
He does swim around a bit, but he's lost quite a bit of finnage and quite a few scales as well.
It's all my fault. I'm a bad fishkeeper.
For now I've covered his tank with a dark cloth... What can I do to help him???

If you have any stress coat, add a little in his tank. It will help him fight off diseases and all that bad stuff.

I don't have stress coat, but I have Cycle- which reduces fish loss.. i put some of that in. I'll get some stress coat tomorrow. Thanks!

Gosh you all need to stop thinking you are bad fish moms.
It happens, he should be fine.
Just make sure the water is clean so no bacteria infections or anything can start.

Ugh... it's so hard NOT to think you're a bad fish mom when something happens to your favorite fishie...
Should I continue his daily water changes for his parasites? I don't want to stress him out.

Relax, breathe. This happened to one of my girls once. I thought she was dying, but she's fine now. It's not your fault. They're idiots sometimes, but in a good way. :)

He's in a 2.5 gal... I lowered the water 4 inches because he didn't have a lid (its' a deep tank, too.) and he's around 1 inch and I never though he could jump that high, he's so tiny o.o
Swornoffjello, thank you... glad I'm definitely not the only one.

I think he's a superfish. XD
I just came home, and he ate two pellets, I put some stress coat in, and put a mirror up to see if he was happy enough to flare (which he was.) Though his poor fins...! They are a mess!! He hasn't lost any color, and he's working on a bubblenest.

I'm telling you, those short tail guys are amazing jumpers! Kilo jumps up and slams into his lid when I'm feeding him. I'm shocked he hasn't concussed himself.

He sounds like he's doing okay. You're gonna need a tank with a lid I think. :)

Yeah, for sure o.o I bought one today.
He's a fighter, I think he's gonna be okay now... though he is in some shock.
