Exclamation Akira is doing a gender bender.

Akira is building bubblenests in the sorority, just little ones, and doing the little dance to the females, the s shaped dance, and then chasing them >.<
I put a mirror in there and she flares just like a male >.<
the egg spot and short ventrals aren't meaning much to me now...
ughh I had to take her out.
Look at her...

Looks like a pretty wee boy to me. This has happened to me twice already with my Piper and Siren. In fact, all of the 'blue females' I have seen at my local are mislabelled males.

Still a beautiful fish you have there.

I think she/he is a female because I see a egg spot. I've also heard that some females do make bubblenest. She may be just more mean than your other females.

Some females will make bubblenests. It has a very boyish shape to me though.

Maybe she is a manly PK girl? haha, she goes on what she feels for the day, sometimes she feels more maleish, sometimes more girly,
her head looks like a girls, but her back half a boy's..
Her and spoof are having flareing matches,
I tried to breed her and spoof before, and Spoof embraces, but no eggs came out.
I am assuming she is a girl, just a wierd wierd one.

Yeah Spoof would definitely know if she was a he, lol! I saw a bunch of females at petsmart that looked like young males to me, they were flaring at eachother and had bubblenests in their tank, but were labeled female, beautiful marble red/pink girls.

I thought only males had the "beard" when they flare? And I definitely see a beard in those pics. Here is a link about sexing.
