Tankmate ideas for a ten gal?

Ok, so I have decided to try again with tankmates for my ten gal. I only have 1 male CT in there and it looks so empty! A few months ago I tried neon tetras but i had to give them back becuase they i think where biting the CT fins and he wouldn't eat. As soon as they left the tank he began eating again.

Any ideas for tankmates?

Maybe some snails, or some ghost shrimp/cherry shrimp. I don't know if you have enough room for cory fish (cory catfish I think they are called). Maybe a pleco? They can live to 15-20 years though so probably not a good choice. Hmmmm. I'm not sure but good luck! :)))

African dwarf frog? I think that it is 1 gallon per frog, and they don't produce a lot of waste.

Plecos get WAY too big and they need schools

Ya every pleco gets to big and most of them do better in groups. You could do some ember tetras, and some adfs. If you want stuff that are easy to feed, dont get the adfs.

Years ago I had 5 rummy nose tetras in a 10 gallon tank with one male betta. They seemed to do fine....

Rummies in a 10 is quite small for them. They need at least a 20 long (i say 29).

Well, for any community with a betta it needs to be planted. I'll hazard a guess that your betta may have been stressed with the neons, and he couldn't hide as easily. I have neons in with one of my males, and they get along. another option is dividing it is half, and putting another male of the other side, but you would have to be careful in case a male got through the divider.
