My fish is insane. It's almost hypnotic.

Cameron, the newest addition to my little fam has been exhibiting the strangest behavior I've ever seen in a betta. Ever. Way outside of the weird stuff my others do on a daily basis.

He has this habit of swimming in circles when he's bored. Vertical circles. Always in the same part of his tank, and always ALWAYS counter-clockwise. He seems to be enjoying himself so I don't interfere. I can watch him do it over and over and never lose interest. He's in a 1G tank from wal mart right now, but once I move into the apartments I've had my eye on since March, He'll be getting a MUCH bigger tank because of this. like HUGE.

I wonder if he'll continue with this circle thing. I took video of him doing it today, and I'm currently uploading it to facebook, but I'll have to get it on youtube for you all to see. He's the cutest little turd ever. lol

Just thought I'd share!
Has anybody else seen this kind of behavior in your fish? Have you seen something much more strange than this? Let's hear it!

LOL My new betta (Un-named??) doesn't seem too weird yet lol! Alexander does many weird things but the one thing that he does OVER and Over and OVER is swim back in forth through the heater and then he will go through the betta log I just got him and he has been doing it OVER and OVER and OVER XD!!! He's a strange little betta..lol

That's adorable! I guess it's pretty entertaining, as my Cameron is still going at it. He's taken a few breaks, but other than that it's just the same thing... over... and over... and over again!

LOL Same here! My Akrin will swim a figure 8 around his plant, he swimming around and around and around until I tape on the glass, Them almost imedietly he swims as fast as he can up to me and doin a lil dance! LOL

LOL!! That sounds so cute xD There isn't one minute of the day that Alex isn't BEGGING like a puppy dog to get some more pellets xD

I'm starting to think that as well.
He decided to swim another route today, through his little cave, then out, in a circle, then back again. So I'm no longer suspicious of possible tail biting. His tail is so bit ragged to start with due to his previous fin rot it's hard to tell. I'm seeing a lot of regrowth though! I'll get this on youtube tonight and show you all. He's definitely getting a really big tank after the move so this isn't much of a problem anymore.
