Strange behavior and possible fin rot or damage?

Ok, so my newset Betta (Akrin) has been acting weird. During the day, he always sits at the darkest bottom corner of his tank. and he will NEVER go up to the top of surface unless he has to breath, Everytime he goes up there he flipps out. I think it might be his filter Because it poors out the filtered water there. Also at night he freaks out and starts to flare and ram the glass, it might be his reflection but idk, And finaly, When I first got him he had a dead looking fin peice, Im afried it might be fin rot or fin damage.

A few questions...

How big is the tank, how much and often are the water changes and when was the last one, any additives used, have you done any treatments, if so, what kind and for how long, how long have you had the Betta and this set-up?

1 gallon, He's new so the last water change was when I first wes filling it up an d conditoned it, No additives, no treatment, I've had him for about a week, and he is in a Mini Bow1 tank by Aqueon

In a 1g with a filter I would be making at least every-other day 50% water changes, without a filter 100% every-other day water changes to provide the best water quality for fish and fin health.

Ok, I've been changing his water everyother day. And it worked! His fin damage and rot has cleared up, He is swimming freely through out his tank, and I found out why he was acting aggresive at night. . . He saw his reflection! during day with all the light he cant see it but at night he can see his reflection much clearer and he thinks it's another male! Thanks guys for all the help!
