Question I named him Goku, I think he is sick still though =/ help?

Mkay I got this little copper CT a week ago, I named him Vincent right when I got him. When I got him, he couldn't swim at all really, and half of his tail was gone. i started calling him goku for some reason so it stuck lol. Now he is swimming better, and actually eating, and I can see his tail healing back a little, but he still seems just not right. Regardless of it he has captured my heart, he is great.
Just point out anything I might have missed as far as his health? Please?

He stays like this in the water a lot. It worries me...

He might have an SBD problem :/ since he looks bloated and usually swims vertically.

i think he swims that way because of his tail.the tail is used for balance.he may be tired cause he uses so much more effort to swim around.is there any aeration in the tank as i know people seldom put aeration in beta tanks.the higher oxygen levels may help him heal faster and be less tired while swimming. also add StressCoat +.

Maybe he is just tired.
Right now he is on the 1tsp per gallon salt treatment for his tail with stresscoat, and of course it is heated, but I might add areation in there as well.

Have you ever heard of the spinal issue that some CTs get? I've read about it years ago. Some CTs have a deformed spine or some spinal deficiency that makes them "sit" all the time. I believe one of my friends rescued one like that about 6 years back. It doesn't necessarily affect their quality of life as long as they can still reach the surface to breathe. Goku is beautiful by the way. =)

thanks, you know that might be it...
That was my first guess when I got him was that he has a spine deformation.

My red CT Tito is just like that and he has been since I first got him. He sits like that a lot in the water but lately it seems like he has straightened out a bit. Tito has SBD problems that flare up a lot and I have to be more careful with feeding him than my other boys. Good luck with him... he sure is a beauty. I love his coloring.
