As long as it's actually glass, and not painted or stained or plastic it should be fine, just wash it very well and let it soak in warm water for a while to make sure noting leaks out of it if it's colored glass.

but yes glass is useable, I have glass in my tanks and my betta's are fine.

Oh also make sure there is no sharp places on the glass as well, if it's completely smooth it should be fine.
