Great Tank Design

I thought I would share this great tank design with you...A friend of mine makes these and anyone who makes their own tanks will find this one really easy to put together.. I have it as a split tank, and as a single (pictured here).... The split simply has a piece in the middle of the main front section that isn't glued to the base, leaving a couple of mil for the water to circulate throughout the whole unit...

I like that the heater and filter is hidden in the back.. The back section is sectioned into three compartments. The middle houses a large square filter sponge, with a heater placed on one side and on the other a simple air stone in a pipe which enters into the main section at front, providing very effective and gentle filtration system, as the water circulates out the pipe opening and around to a little section that has been cut away from the glass (and smoothed to ensure no sharp edges) allowing it to go through to the back section where the water is warmed and filtered! A very simple set up that works a charm!

Thanks Lmac and Mango! The tank hold five gallons (5.2 actually)... And I like this size a lot more than the divided tank which obviously gives each fish 2 gallon each (taking out the gallon that is probably in the back part of the unit)... I really like that you can adjust the rate of flow to help your fish adjust to being in a filtered unit, if its new.
