I got my leaves from amy-lim on e-bay. http://stores.ebay.com/Amys-Ketapang-Inc
They came very well packaged and all of the leaves were clean, fragrant, and whole--none were green or moldy or broken. I recommend her.
Divided tanks are less risky than a sorority--as long as the dividers are glued in place and they go all the way up to the tank's hood, they're safe, in my opinion. I have one of my own and I have had no fighting issues. The only real problem is that if there is a bad contagious disease, all of the fish are vulnerable to infection. In order to prevent this, you should quarantine your fish before adding them to the tank.
Hopefully you can get your fish into new containers soon. The one eyed boy should be fine in a larger container, just make sure that there's nothing sharp for him to run into. It will be much, much easier for you to maintain their health once they are in larger containers--larger tanks also offer your fish more environmental enrichment, so they can get exercise they need and some relief from boredom.
Some very good temporary containers are 2-4 gallon rubbermaid/sterilite containers. They are only about $2-$4, and can be safely heated--they offer much more swimming space and don't have to be changed as religiously as the half gallons.
