Exclamation Small mouth on a betta?

My betta that I bought yesterday seems to have a small mouth. He can't eat whole pellets I have to break them in half.He might just be young cause hes a bit smaller the my other bettas Ive had.Im worried is it natural? Will it get bigger over time?
His name is Buddy by the way and my avatar is a pic of him.Can I feed him mosque larva from a outside in a can of water?

I wasn't sure if this should have been at the other sorry if it was.Sorry for all the questions?

Odds are that he's probably just young yet. You get get a special kind of pellets for him, called Hikari Micro Pellets, to make things easier. Otherwise, flakes work for smaller-mouthed bettas. A bit more hassle when cleaning the tank, but it does work.
