Does anyone know anything about red-eared slider turtles?

I don't know--I'm tempted, but I most likely won't get them. I used to want a turtle but I haven't thought about them in years, plus the water changes would be a lot along with my bettas, and I'd have to get my parents OK. Still . . .

i would say you r very very lucky to find one im in new york and i just cannot find one around my area for cheap like that. if i was you i would go for it...also believe it or not but i am on craigslist right now looking for a turtle of any sort. i have just found a tortoise that i want. and they left a number. and right now im tryna get my mom to a good mood so i could ask her and this one is very nearby...i want a turtle soooo bad but i just have to get my mom to drive me over there:) soo good luck and i hope you get ur turtle..



also if you do get the turtle will you private message me about it and im asking you to brag about it lol you know just let me know because im really interested :)

I know that they're omnivores and eat meat like snails, shrimp, goldfish as well as cuttlebones for calcium, and some types of aquatic plants. They need to be kept at around 80 degrees F, can live up to thirty years in captivity, can be aggressive on occasion, need frequent water changes, etc. Is there anything else?

Just know that a 30g tank is NOT enough to support two full grown turtles. I'm not exactly sure how big you would need for two adult turtles, but it'd have to be big!

ohh okay well if you did then i would recommend at LEAST a 55 gallon tank for two full grown turtles...:) also if u just wanted one it would need at LEAST a 30 gallon because turtles need a lot of swimming space and whatever you do dont put two males together. they will fight even in a 55 gallon. ok:)
