Unhappy No more breeding for me in a while...

This HAD to happen?!?

They were finally embracing, until one morning I saw my beautiful roundtail, Fallen Leaves...

His BIG BEAUTIFUL RT WAS COMPLETLY GONE, AND HIS UNIQUE CURLED ANAL FIN WAS GONE AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dorsal fin was chomped in half with holes getting larger, and same with pelvic fins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U should have seen him... Most perfect RT in the world, He had a tail like a HM!!!!!!!!

........... AND HE WAS MARBLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda frusturated at the female, cause she tore him and Dead Sunlight a lot as well...

Took her out, and am gonna try to return her to maryrox tommorow... Then again, I am kinda sad cause she was really sweet...

Just found out that Dead Sunlight is a tail biter, and has Ich...

But the worst is Fallen Leaves, Although I'm very grateful that he's not pale, still eats, and still has a bubblenest.

He's by himself in a 10 gallon, filtered and heatered (76-78) with decor....

Today, he got fin rot...

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

My boys are fighters...

So sorry... You might need to ask pros. Aurora sky is a male and fights with Aqua. Maybe introduce them slower?

We're kinda low on funds so I'm tryin figure out the least expensive way to treat him...Get this, I don't have salt!!!

Also: With a condition like this does anyone have an idea of how long it'll take for him to be considered, "Finrot free"?

Thats too bad......
Best treatment IMO/E is fresh clean dechlorinated water with 100% daily water changes to prevent infection, clear up infection and promote healing, along with good nutrition- healing should be seen within 3-5 days.
Often with extensive injuries the fins may not look the same as they did pre-injury and sometimes the rays will not recover fully

If you have IAL or oak leaf to add to the water that can be helpful as well.
Time, water changes, good food is what has worked for my Betta

Treatment are best done in Qt, however, if you treat in the filtered 10g I would make 50% daily water changes for 10 days then every 3 days until you see active healing and then 50% weekly to maintain.
Your fish is most likely stressed and needs to be located so that they can't see any other fish for awhile-stressed fish can't take care/heal themselves.

QT tank I like to use half to 1 gallon size, no filter, bare bottom to make 100% water changes easier and I keep the water more in the room temp area of 76F to help keep bacterial growth down so I don't worry about a heater.
In the 10g and the filter- I would use it since it doesn't cause too much of a current and it will help keep the cycle stable too.

I have just noticed the same thing with my RT :( I'm not sure whether its from fin nipping or fin rot but his tail looks like it has been cut with a scissors :( Its not to drastic atm but im not sure how im going to treat it as Tetra GT and Aq salt havent worked for me in the past :( good luck with your betta :)

Sorry to hear about your beautiful betta! :(

If you want to use salt in his treatment, you can get kosher or canning salt at the grocery store. It is non-iodized and VERY reasonably priced!

Hope that helps & good luck!
