I posted about a month ago about Cielo's tail melting. pH was around 6.8. I have since moved him into a divided 5.5 gallon with my other CT so I can manage their one in just one tank. He was in a hospital tank for two weeks, and have been in the 5.5 for about 1.5 weeks. I haven't seen any change in his rays, except that the tips are no longer red. The tips just seem to shrivel off. I've used JFC, IAL, and AQ salt. AQ salt definitely made it worse (must have made the water harder?) and the red tips have not reappeared since I got rid of the salt. He was in a cycled tank and I am in the process of seeding the tank he is in now to cycle it. I do 50-75% WCs 2 times per week in his new tank. I honestly haven't checked the water params in his new tank since I've been changing it frequently and am in the process of seeding it. The params just don't seem to make a difference anyway (barring high ammonia, nitrites and those kinds of basic things). If you think it would be a good idea to test it let me know. I even feel stupid writing that.
Here are some pics of his tail. He is fine in everyother way. I did notice a kind of mucousy poo, but I have been feeding different food the past week and he tend to get bloated, so this has happened in the past before he passed a giant poo.
here are the pics. Notice the shriveled tips. I've NEVER seen any fuzzies, just the shriveling (imagine your skin when you've been in the bath too long):
Thank you for any help you can offer!!
