test results

Okay, just got back from Petco, and the test results seem to be not great, but not terrible?

Ammonia: 0.5 ppm
Nitrate: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
pH: 7.2-7.6

I bought Prime as a water conditioner as suggested by Adastra and a thermometer; the temp is sitting steady at 81 degrees F. He seemed to like the thermometer . Can I just measure Prime directly into the bowl with Brooklyn still in it? Do I still have to age the water first?

We're using a washed out yogurt cup as a temporary cave until we can get him something better (since JKfish said food safe stuff was OK).

I also bought a silk plant, since Petco said that they'd be out of Java moss until Thursday, but I'm a little worried because it seems really cheaply made ... with plastic bits sticking out and falling off . I'm afraid Brooklyn will eat the falling-off plastic parts. Does anyone have suggestions for other (not too expensive) plants?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

My sister bought some nice ones from Petsmart or walmart a few days ago that she's got in her tank now.. I'll send this thread to her as I have no idea what brand it was or how much it cost. =/ also have you tried scrubbing the plants with your fingers to force the little bits that seem to be falling off to fall off? If you can scrub/scratch all of them off while they're not in his bowl then you won't have to worry about him eating them. =]

Lol Just saw wally's post. The plants I bought are these http://www.walmart.com/ip/Penn-Plax-...Plant/10312308
They're really good just mind any sharp plastic bits.
