Live plant roots question

Hey guys. The roots of my amazpon plants are starting to grow out of the gravel. Is this a bad thing? Do the roots have to be buried completely or only enough so the plant stays rooted to the bottom of the tank?

My sword do this too and its not anything to worry about, sometimes they are just looking for more food and some may even be getting reading to reproduce. I get plantletts on both the root area(runners) and coming out of the top of the plant.
When they get too bad/unsightly- I cut or pinch them off at the base of the mother plant.
