I woke up Sunday morning went to feed my Betta and thats when i noticed his eyes bulging. I immediately researched the topic, and changed his water.
I think i aggravated him in the transition process, because once i put him back in, he started going nuts. Swimming in circles around the bowl very fast, doing barrel rolls, just looking very uncomfortable.
As the days progressed, he stopped eating, and merely floats on the top of the bowl, looking dead. Now he is not dead. I feel he is either one fin out the door, or conserving his energy for an amazing recovery. Today, i checked on him this morning, at about 8 am. He was just resting on top of his bowl again. I checked back at 11, he was not in the bowl. I thought someone must have flushed him prematurely, but thats when i noticed a blue fish lying behind the bowl.
I thought he must have breached in order to finally put himself out of misery, when i went to go scoop him to toss him, he jumped a bit, still alive, i put him back in his bowl. He started swimming like a new fish, tried jumping out again, so i covered the bowl. now he is breaching himself on the plastic flower in the bowl, with his head kinda out of the water...
Im going to give him some pea's tonight, he has fasted for 3 days now. Hopefully he will even try to eat them. Otherwise im kinda at a loss of what to do for this fish. Im not about to take a $10 fish to the vet and buy medication for it, but i do want to make him as comfortable as possible in the time remaining....
Any Help is appreciated!
