Remi (lots of pictures)

I'm new to this forum...so there is a good chance I'm going to do something wrong. Anyway, I got Remi from Petco recently, he is currently in a medium sized Kritter Keeper, 2.75 gallons i think. He doesn't have a heater right now, but tomorrow when I go back to Petco he will get one. (BTW, the wall behind his tank is green, and when i took the pictures it makes his water look green, the water is NOT green lol) i hope these pictures don't turn out huge, sorry in advance if they do.


anddd, this is probably a stupid question - but, is Remi full grown, he just seems so tiny lol

Remi is VERY nice :P To answer your question... how long've you had him? If you've only had him for a little bit, chances are he's still a bit young. If you've had him for awhile, though, he could just be a small betta (:

I have that exact same critter keeper, looks pretty good.
I would get a glass internal thermometer too with your heater, so you know if it's working or not, the outside ones don't work so great.
On a critter keeper that size 100% water changes every three days, also if your not already, be sure to use a water conditioner to take the chlorine out of your tap water, and when doing water changes make sure the water is the same temperature (use that thermometer)
I put my water in gallon jugs and age it for a day, then submerse the gallon jugs in hot water in the sink until they reach the correct temp.
Looks like you are doing awesome, just look around these threads for all sorts of info.

and maybe add some silk plants (fabric plants) they sell them at petco, some of the plastic ones are sharp and can rip betta fins, or trap them under water so they can't get to the surface to breathe. Your plants look okay to me, unlike most plastic plants, good choices!

Another question, what heater would you guys recommend, I don't know if the Kritter Keeper is any different heater-wise, being plastic and all.

I use heaters in my critter keepers and have had no problem with melting.
