Okay thank you. Also, I forgot to mention his old bowl smelled like dead fish.

I added the salt. I heard Bettafix is bad for a Betta?

I only heard it once on another forum and on one or two of the reviews on Petco's site.

I don't think so. I've been giving all of my bettas Bettafix and they're healthy if not healthier. I believe members on this site also use it.

I've heard it's bad from several members on this forum. It's not as bad as it's partner Melafix but it still does damage to the labyrinth organ.

Bettafix is a watered down version of Melafix. Unfortunately I bought Melafix, lost the receipt and can't return it. =/

OFL knows more about it though.

Tohugh if you use pretty small doses of bettafix I think it won't do harm to the organ. =] could be wrong though. again more experienced member know more than I do.

What does it mean if a Betta has white poop? I read it could be parasites. But it also said 50% of the time it isn't?

Oh, really? Hmm. Well, I only use it when they're sick, which is not very often, so I guess that's okay.

Yes, like wallywestisthebest has said, if you use it in small doses, it should be fine... but if you put like the whole bottle in there, that's going to be a problem.

It could be a parasite. I'll look up on it for you...

I wouldn't use Betta fix, but that's JMO.

I would stick with the AQ. salt for 10 days with daily water changes. If it's not getting any better, try some Jungle Fungus eliminator.

Poor boy! Good luck with him!
