Please help! I'm losing my 2 year old betta, Pink!

Hi all! New to the forum and no time to post profile junk as I need some serious advice for my female betta, Pink. About a week ago she stopped swimming around in her usual fashion and just started hanging out near the corner of the top of her heated, filtered, 5 gallon tank. She would eat, but it was as if she couldn't see the food, she was feeling around for it. Now, she's retreated to the bottom of the tank and is in a bad way. I've done partial water changes, added aquarium salt, and it seems as if she's only getting worse :( Any advice? I'm losing her and I want to save her!!! She hasn't eaten for almost a week, can't swim, isn't even breathing heavy anymore. Also, she will only move erratically if I physically move her tank, and it startles her.

Sometimes there is nothing to do to save them... Check signs of illnesses and hope she lives. Other people had to watch their bettas suffer and die because there was nothing to do. She might be blind or hurt? You might need to let go... Pink is holding on for you and I hope she lives...

So sorry to hear that. It's always hard when you don't know what's wrong. How old is she?

She died overnight :( Very sad..she looked like she had perked up a little before I went to bed and I had hope.

Sounds like she had a great life with you and sadly this species can have such a short life cycle and we are never ready to let go.
It sounded like she even said goodbye and thank you for a wonderful two years when she perked up last night so you could rest/sleep in ease and she went peacefully in the night.
You did a great job and sadly death happens....
I hope to hear and see pic of your new wet-pet soon...don't give up...you did a great job......
