Question Should I...?

Well, for the past while, my betta's been biting his tail, and I'd always assumed he'd stop by the time the 10 gallon tank is cycled and ready for him, or if not, he'd stop soon after. Well, the tank is cycled, and in a couple of days, I'll get the shrimp and four or five harlequin rasboras to go in there too after they are quarintined for a few days, but there's no signs of him stopping. He's a pretty mellow guy, do you think he'll be alright if I put him in the tank when the other fish are in, or do you think he'll bite his tail even more? I'm thinking he might stop, because it'll be less boring, but I'm now having second doubts and wondering if putting him in a tank with a few other fish will stress him out too much. Opinions?

You should try it, and if he bites his tail more, remove him. Try destressing him and prevent diseases.
