Could he be depressed?

Felix is acting a little off...
He really just likes to rest on the rock in there, and that's it. He does swim around and he has eaten for me. But most of the time he sits on the gravel or just rests. It's hot out, so I don't think I need a heater, though I do have extra. I kept a lamp that produces heat (not a heat lamp though) over his tank and that hasn't seemed to help. I can't get him to flare either. He is scared of mirrors, though he will look at Maisie in the tank beside him. And his tank is much bigger than the little cup he was in! What could be wrong? He has places to hide, rest, and lots of room to swim around.

If you just got him, he could just be adjusting to his surroundings. My fish was like that for a few days and then was fine.

FK, His tank is beside my most current active betta, Maisie. I got her yesterday and already she's the most hyper lol.

Sprinkleface, I know... but... I don't know. XD He seems depressed, and Horatio and Maisie have adjusted already... although I know he could just be a shy betta. I feel like something's wrong though. o.o Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow... or at the latest, Wednesday.

Yah give it some time. My fish would always hide behind the filter the first 3 days (First thing since I've had 3 other Bettas and they never did that, they just adjusted) and on top of it he'd never eat. After he just got comfortable and was swimming around and being all curious and stuffs :) Just be patient and keep an eye if you think somethings wrong.

Edit: Betta's are like people. Different personalities and such...you have a shy betta as it seems, but it should go away with time :)

Yep... I hope so. XD I've been keeping bettas for 6 years, and this is pretty much the only betta I've had that has stayed shy this long, so it's a bit of a scare. o.o

Yesterday. Pretty much all of my fish warm up to their tanks the first day. This is just wierd for me. But I understand he could still be warming up...
