New Betta Won't Eat!

Hey I looked on google but couldn't really find any good photos. I read some pages about it though and his head does have some spots that are rust-coloured. It's hard to tell if that is natural or if it could be velvet..

Will treating him with medication for velvet hurt him if he doesn't have it?

As the title of picture says that is Velvet.

EDIT: It will. You don't want to treat him if you are not sure that is what he has or not.

Okay, just checking. I did find that photo, but that was about the only one I could find. He definitely doesn't look like that, I was just trying to find other photos in case sometimes it looks different. I read that it can be gold or rust coloured. The symptoms certainly seem to describe his behaviour, but he doesn't look unhealthy to me. In fact, since we put him in the new tank he seems much less lethargic.

No, it doesn't look like he has any of the things listed on there. Like I said, he looks healthy to me (not that I know well). Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but when we bought him he was in blue-ish water, which I read in another post is medicine or something? And that they often are in blue water when you buy them at the store.

The blue is called Methylene Blue

I had a Betta not eat for about 2.5 weeks. Eventually I guess he realized, "Well... this is all I'm getting... so I 'betta' enjoy it..." lol

I called the pet store this morning and they told me that they fed him frozen blood worms. I might go into town to pick some up today, but I am going to keep trying to feed him the freeze-dried ones that we already got. Do you guys think the frozen blood worms will actually serve any better than the freeze-dried ones?
