cycling a 3g

Do you have to cycle a 3 gallon tank? I didn't really cycle my 2.5g, just set it up a few days before I got my betta, and he seemed fine.

A 3 gallon doesn't HAVE to be cycled but if you don't cycle it, you'll need to do 100% water changes once a week.
