Where Betta fishes come from they eat mesquitos and worms. Blood Worms are very nutricious, and are close to what they eat in their natural habitat.
Also...You should not feed your fish alot of these because they don't have as much protein and needed necessities. I use food made especially for betta fish and then blood worms on sat. and as treats.....

XsprinklefaceX, I don't use alot of bloodworms. One case should last a year or so.
:D Also I don't use pellets but I suggest a pinch per day!

It depends on how big a pinch is, really. 4-6 pellets a day is good.

True but that depends how big your "pinches" are lol. I wouldn't suggest a pinch of pellets to people because certain peoples pinches may be too much or on the contrary too little...i suggest 4-6 pellets a day whether it be fed all at once or split in half(half in am, half @ pm).

Bloodworms should be looked at as a treat for your betta. Just like if we have too much dessert we'll get fat or bloated. Too much bloodworm adn a betta will get bloated. I would suggest to feed him both pellets AND give bloodworms maybe every other day. Including Daphnia and fruit flies are also good for your betta. Remember bettas need a variety of food because they get bored easily and also it provides them with more of the goods ;).

Bloodworms should only be fed as a once or twice a week treat.

Also, it's a good idea to soak the pellets as well as freeze dried blood worms, because they have air in them and that could constipate Mr. Betta.

Also, someone on here told me something that makes a lot of sense. "I never feed my betta anything that has 'fish meal' as it's first ingredient." Meaning, you gotta be careful what you feed your betta because most betta foods they have at pet stores aren't even good for them. I have to buy mine online.

That was me & that is why I feed Omega One Betta Buffet Pellets. :) I also feed New Life Spectrum Surface Feeder pellets & Brine Shrimp Flakes Plus by Ocean Nutrition a couple of times a week.
