Water change question in a 10 gallon

I have a split 10 gallon tank. It has a betta and 3 catfish on one side and a king betta on the other. There are 2 amazon sword plants in the tank. It is heated and filtered. I currently do a 40% water change each week. If I add more plants to the tank, can I lessen my water changes??

Depending on what type of plants, stem and floating plants can help with water quality to help in filtration, but to decrease number of water changes you really need lots and lots of plants to make a difference.
You may be able to decrease the weekly percent, but unless you have at least 75-90% mix of stem and floating plants I would stick to weekly water changes.
