Question Any ideas for getting your Betta to eat pellets?

Hi guys!!!

So I thought that this problem would revolve over time.

When I got Dead Sunlight and Fallen Leaves, The first thing I fed them was AQUA CULTURE Pellet food. I love this brand- It's all mostly meat-based and is very high in protein.

Fallen Leaves instantly chewed that pellet down, Dead Sunlight didn't touch it.

I found a sample of Betta Flake food from NUTRAFIN MAX- It's okay, but the thing that concerns me is that the main ingredient is Red Algae Pigment, which is vegetable-based.

Dead Sunlight won't eat the pellets, and I'm not allowed to buy more food.

Oh, and one thing- I'M RUNNING SHORT OF THE FLAKES!!!

Anyone have any suggestions?

How long ago did you get your bettas? Bettas in a new environment might not eat and bettas can up for awhile without eating. I know that they'll be fine for at least 7 days without food, and if they get hungry enough they'll eat anything floating in their water.

Have you tried soaking the pellets in garlic juice?

Ajones108: It's been a while, actually... I got both of them on 5-27-10.

TheJadeBetta: I'm not allowed to. Do you have any other ideas?

I suggest the garlic as well. Crush up a clove and soak the pellets in it's juice. Not allowed? Why not?

I'm not allowed to use any household item for use of my fish. (My mom hates that fishy smell).

Hmm, but maybe I'll sneak a clove upstairs or something.

I'll try!!!

What kind of food do you have now, pellet-wise? What if some good samaritan sent you pellets? Would you be allowed to use them? :P

while we're talking about pellets, is the aqeuonbetta pellets (whole fish meal first ingredient) good? My betta seems to like it. Is he getting his needed nutrition from this? &id say do the garlic juice trick!
