Sad morning :(

I've come to the conclusion that I have to euthanize my HM Blaze today (see my avatar).

He has some type of bacteria that has slowly eaten a hole in his underside and now his bladder is grossly swollen because of the pressure. I've been treating him for months starting with lesser meds and moving up to Tetracycline to no avail.

Not looking forward to this but it's the right thing to do. Groan......

You can only do so much and when the fish is suffering it is time to do the right thing by the fish........humane euthanasia
Its never fun or easy...but it is the right thing to do when everything else has failed and the fish is suffering and know that you did everything you could...sorry for your loss.....

Thank you. I just finished the clove oil and vodka method. He's heading out the the flower bed in a few mins.

This sucks :(

RIP Blaze my crazy bronco bucking dancer with the sweetest disposition ever.

I'm sorry that you had to do that. I lost my fantail recently, I miss him a lot. He was a very sweet goldfish and very curious. He liked playing hide and seek sometimes. But he died from a sickness too, like yours did. I don't know if there is another place they will go after they die, but God cares for and knows the little creatures too. He looks like he had a great home. :)

Thanks everyone. Only fellow fish lovers understand how sad it can be.

I just came home with another boy to put in his tank. I KNOW you understand about empty tank syndrome LOL.

He's a light blue VT with some pinkish fins. We'll see if he stays that way or if he colors up once he's in the tank. I think we're naming him Bogey or Boogie (sticking with the B names for now).

Will try to get picture or two tomorrow. I'm going to let him chill and acclimate to his new home tonight.
